Bear tracking with a guide in Kõrvemaa
Are you ready to meet the mysterious inhabitant of the Estonian forests – the brown bear?
This bear watching tour takes you for a whole day into the forests of Kõrvemaa to search for the brown bear in its natural habitat. Under the guidance of an experienced guide, you quietly move along forest trails, learn to spot fresh tracks, scratch marks, and other signs indicating bear movements. This is a genuine nature experience: the wild animals are completely free, not lured by bait or staged situations.
Before the trek, the guide introduces you to bear behavior, movement patterns, and safe observation practices, and accompanies you throughout the day. The best chances of encountering bears are from May to October, when the animals are more active. Approximately 1,000 brown bears live in Estonia, making our country one of the best places in Europe to spot these powerful animals.
The trek proceeds at a relaxed pace and includes light walks in nature. Come experience a quiet, honest, and unforgettable encounter with Estonia’s wild animals!
